News | Hanqi Environment Wins Bid for Wastewater Reuse Treatment Unit of Shijiazhuang Refining & Chemical Green Transition Development Project
Date:2026-09-28
In a golden autumn season, Hanqi Environment successfully won the bid for the advanced wastewater reuse treatment unit of the Shijiazhuang Refining & Chemical Green Transition Development Project. Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Co., Ltd. is the general contractor for this project, and Hanqi Environment is responsible for the full-process core process package and process system integration. This is another collaboration between Hanqi Environment and Sinopec Ningbo Engineering following the Gulei Refining & Chemical Integration Project, and also recognition from the client and general contractor of Hanqi's full-process turnkey technical capability.
The Shijiazhuang Refining & Chemical Green Transition Development Project is an important supporting project for the client's green and low-carbon transition. Once the awarded unit is completed and operational, the treated water will be used for subsequent reuse, which is of positive significance for reducing fresh water consumption and strictly controlling wastewater discharge at the plant. The general contractor coordinates the overall project, while Hanqi Environment, led by its core process package, ensures full-process process interfacing and system integration. The advanced treatment system is designed to achieve effluent total hardness ≤100 mg/L, total nitrogen ≤10 mg/L, COD ≤40 mg/L, and effluent turbidity ≤2 NTU.

In engineering design, Hanqi focuses on compact general layout and unit integration. While ensuring process performance, it promotes the integrated co-construction of relevant treatment units, saving more than one-third of the land area in this region compared with traditional schemes, and effectively reducing investment and shortening the construction period. For the advanced oxidation unit, the project adopts Hanqi's self-developed ozone fluidized bed technology. This technology has been successfully applied in multiple projects within the Sinopec system. It offers operational advantages including no hazardous waste catalyst generation, no need for backwash equipment, no backwash water generation, and enhanced gas-liquid mass transfer through a large internal circulation ratio that reduces ozone consumption — fully aligning with the project's green and low-carbon transition requirements. Through multi-unit combination and system optimization, the project forms an overall advantage in controlling operating costs, ensuring long-term stable operation, and enhancing impact resistance.
According to the general contractor, after the project is completed and put into operation, it will save 800 cubic meters of production water per hour, accumulating 7 million tons of water savings annually, reduce wastewater discharge, ease pressure on the regional water environment, and achieve circular reuse of water resources. This winning bid represents not only trust but also responsibility. Hanqi will fulfill its commitments pragmatically, leveraging stable and reliable technology and full-process services to support Shijiazhuang Refining & Chemical's green and low-carbon transition. Together with the client and general contractor, we will protect every drop of water and honor every commitment to green.

The Shijiazhuang Refining & Chemical Green Transition Development Project is a key "oil-to-chemicals" project of Sinopec in North China, with a planned total investment of 22 billion yuan and a first-phase investment of 10.8 billion yuan. With "reducing oil and increasing chemicals" as its main direction, it drives the enterprise's transformation from a fuel-type refinery to a new materials company. It is the core support for Shijiazhuang Refining & Chemical's green and low-carbon transition and its development into a new materials and clean energy base.
