The technical contract of "sewage treatment station of Russia NFP 5400m3/d methanol project" jointly undertaken by Hanqi Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Hanqi) and Chengda Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Chengda ) have passed the rigorous review of Russia, marking the official launch of the project.

This is another overseas project of Hanqi after Kazakhstan, Indonesia and Bangladesh, which indicates that Hanqi is steadily going abroad and opening a new journey of global market expansion.

Project background

Chengda and Russia NFP signed a EPC contract for the project of producing methanol from natural gas with a daily output of 5400 tons which is a total amount of about US $1.5 billion. 

Chengda is one of the world's leading international comprehensive engineering companies with strong design capacity. It is recognized as the world's largest 225 international engineering design companies, the world's top 150 design companies and the top 60 engineering design enterprises in China.

The project is located in the coastal border area of the Russian Federation and is sensitive to the environment. As a supporting facility of the project, the effluent quality of the sewage treatment station must meet the fishery water quality standards in the "order of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation of 13.12.2016, No. 552" (standard order No. 552 of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation) and other relevant Russian regulations, in which cod is less than 20, and other indicators are also very strict.

As the subcontractor, Hanqi is responsible for the detailed design, equipment procurement, installation and commissioning guidance, performance guarantee, etc. of the full sewage treatment station.

The project includes wastewater treatment, sludge treatment, odor treatment and three-level prevention and control in the plant.

Everything is possible

The sewage quality needs to be determined by the operating conditions of various units, formulating the water quality and referring to similar engineering cases. Therefore, the final water quality parameters are determined relatively late, but the process design of the sewage station needs to be completed at the earliest.

In the face of late determination of water quality and two strict time deadline requirements, Hanqi team led by the chief engineer work hard day and night in for 20 days to finally completed the impossible tasks within the specified time. The performance of the team was highly praised by the partners.

Self-breakthrough, gnawing down the "hard bone"

As the project is located in the coastal border area of the Russian Federation, in the face of strict effluent quality standards, after careful comparison and repeated demonstration, Hanqi company stood out with its economic and reasonable process scheme and rich engineering experience. Hanqi people finally gnawed down this "hard bone" and completed their own breakthrough. Throughout the whole project, there are some remarkable points:

• Strict water quality discharge indicators

The effluent indicators of the sewage treatment station shall meet the fishery water quality standards in the "standard order No. 552 issued by the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation". The main indicators are as follows:

• High design standard

The project requires 3D layout design management system to realize full-scale 3D solid modeling.

• High construction standard

The design, processing and manufacturing of all equipment shall meet American standards, pass GOST certification and meet Russian national quality standards.

Full process with land saving

The sewage treatment station including water capacity of 8000m3 / D, the dry sludge volume of 1.2t/d, and the odor volume of 12000m3 / h with a total footprint of only 13000M2.
